On the 5th December we made our last #ThankYouNHS delivery of 2019 to the amazing staff at the world renown Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Joining us once more to make this special delivery was the inspirational Noah Wall, miracle boy born with just 2% brain mass and spina bifida along with Ella Chadwick who was born with a rare kidney disease. Between them, these brave children, who are full of love, joy and wonder have had to endure over 50 operations in their young lives.
When Noah first joined us back in December 2018 for his first delivery to Newcastle RVI, the hospital where he was born, he asked his mum Shelly when could he do it again. Shelly called me and asked if it were possible for her and Noah to join us delivering hampers to a total of 5 children’s hospitals around the UK. How could we resist?!
The Great Ormond Street delivery was to be Noah’s 4th hospital that he’s joined us at, bringing joy to thousands of unsung heroes within the NHS and also providing hope and inspiration for other families facing their own challenges, proving that when the odds are stacked against you, miracles can happen. Noah now has 80% brain mass and is still amazing doctors and specialist worldwide.
As before, we used the same core products from local producers at Tiptree Patisserie, Retro Corn Popcorn, Fairfield Farm Crisps, Shaken Udder Milkshakes and a copy of Jason Vale’s new book Create Magic. We also had some fabulous products gifted to us from former Apprentice winner, Sarah Lynne and her Sweets in the City new range of sweets, Duals, 70 boxes of fab-ulous fudge from Fab-Fudge and 70 lip and hand balms from Beeutifulbees
We have to say a massive thank you to fellow #SBS (Small Business Sunday) winner Sarah Dunwood too, who took time out of her busy pre Christmas schedule to travel down from Manchester to London to take photographs of the delivery.
Like previous deliveries it was an amazing day and we thank the businesses and individuals that supported our campaign for Great Ormond Street by sponsoring hampers from the bottom of our hearts. Without your support and trust we wouldn’t be able to make these deliveries possible, so thank you.
Once we had finished our delivery at GOSH we had a call from Noah’s mum Shelly to say that Noah had been invited by Harrods for afternoon tea and a VIP visit to see Santa and would we like to join them. It was an offer we couldn’t refuse, Harrods is such an amazing store, even more so at Christmas. We had a further surprise too when TV ‘s Dr Zoe Williams turned up to surprise Noah. It was great to finally meet her, especially after she has retweeted lots of our tweets for the #ThankYouNHS initiative.
Once the fun at Harrods had finished it was time to travel to the hotel for the next part of our story which will be revealed in the following blog!
If you like 100s of others who have done so so far like to contribute towards or sponsor a hamper or multiples’ of, please do get in touch, whether you’re an individual or business we can accommodate you all and in return you can help make 2020 the year of kindness x
