At Secret Hamper, we know exactly why we exist: to make the world a kinder place, one thoughtful gesture at a time.

After many years in the corporate world, founder Nigel Richardson felt a growing pull to follow his entrepreneurial instincts and do something more meaningful. That moment arrived unexpectedly in December 2015. Inspired by a TV advert showing a young boy leaving a bag of groceries on a neighbour’s doorstep, Nigel felt moved to do the same for one of his own elderly neighbours.

At 22:12 on the 23rd of December 2015, the idea for Secret Hamper was born.

The grateful recipient of that first anonymous act of kindness still has no idea who left the surprise at their door—and that magical feeling of giving quietly, humbly, and wholeheartedly continues to inspire everything we do.

Launched in June 2016, Secret Hamper was created to give everyone the chance to “Be a Mega Hero” and spread a little kindness—anonymously or not—one hamper at a time.

From a box of baby essentials for an exhausted new mum, to a comforting bundle of treats for a homesick student, to a cheerful hamper designed to lift the spirits of someone living in a care home, every parcel is packed with love and purpose.

Because when a Secret Hamper is sent, two people get to feel good:
the sender who shares the kindness—
and the recipient whose day is instantly brighter.
