Secret Hamper’s chosen charity for March is Kids Inspire
A couple of weeks ago we attended a breakfast networking meeting where we were fortunate to meet Katharine Loveday, corporate fundraiser for Kids Inspire charity. After hearing about all the great work that they do it was an easy choice for us to choose them as our charity of the month for March.
It is our aim to have a positive impact on peoples lives, we believe that by supporting charities this way we can show people that they can make a small donation via our site which will go towards building a Secret Hamper/s which at the end of that month will be sent to the charity. The charity can then choose to distribute them amongst their database where they see fit or the hampers can be used as a raffle or auction item to raise funds.
Kids Inspire helps disadvantaged young people turn their lives around and gives them back their future.
We support young people across Essex who are at an educational, social and/or economic disadvantage resulting from trauma or emerging mental health issues. For example they may have experienced sexual or domestic abuse, separation anxiety or significant loss.
Many young people are referred to Kids Inspire because other support agencies consider them ‘too complex’ to help. We do not turn people away based on the complexity of need. Thanks to this, Kids Inspire has assisted Social Care in closing hundreds of cases.
Kids Inspire provides disadvantaged young people, their parents and young carers (siblings) a bespoke service package consisting of:
* Individual therapy (e.g. clinically proven counselling, Arts Psychotherapy, complementary therapies and talking therapy);
* Coaching (support to improve emotional health and mental well being);
* Mentoring (support and guidance on a one-to-one basis, provided by trained volunteers);
* Group work (e.g. Kids Who Lunch Club during the school holidays for children entitled to free school meals; Dramatherapy and Filmmaking).
