We’re delighted to have been awarded Maldon District Council Chairman’s Fast Track Business of the Year 2017.

Fellow entrepreneurs and business owners from around the district were recognised at the council’s business awards on Friday 23rd February.

The second annual Chairman’s business awards took place at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome. Maldon District Council Chairman Henry Bass hosted the awards, which saw 30 of the district’s businesses nominated.

There were 4 categories

  • Young Entrepreneur of the year
  • Best established business
  • Fast Track business of the year
  • New business of the year

Young entrepreneur of the year was awarded to smokehouse Lambton & Jackson. The business started in early 2014, focused on the creation of artisan smoked salmon.

Best established business went to Gibbons Engineering Group, which has been going for 48 years and is now in its third generation.

The Fast Track business of the year was awarded to us here at Secret Hamper, a huge honour to be recognised by our local council.

New business of the year went to Skeggs Beef Ltd, which was set up in 2016 and supplies beef to restaurants and supermarkets.

The overall business of the year prize was awarded to Gibbons Engineering Group, well done guys.
