Secret Hamper NHS70 Initiative
After losing my beloved dad to cancer—and missing him by just two minutes to tell him I loved him—the only comfort I held onto was knowing that a nurse sat by his side and held his hand as he passed.
A simple box of biscuits never felt enough to express how deeply grateful I was for the compassion shown to my dad in his final moments, especially by that nurse.
A few years later, as the NHS approached its 70th anniversary, I found myself thinking: How could I show my appreciation on a larger scale? I knew I couldn’t make a huge impact alone, so I turned to social media and asked for help—using kindness and community spirit as the driving force.
A Non-Profit Initiative With a Simple Aim: Say a BIG Thank You
This ongoing, not-for-profit initiative invites businesses, sports stars, celebrities, and individuals across the UK to help recognise and celebrate the incredible care delivered by the unsung heroes of our NHS—now in its 76th year.
No matter who you are, chances are you know someone who works within the NHS.
Our mission is to honour them by sponsoring bespoke hampers as a heartfelt “Thank You” to the people who dedicate their lives to caring for others.
Our Goal: 70 Hospitals Across the UK
Secret Hamper aims to deliver 70 hampers to 70 hospitals nationwide.
When we visit a hospital, the contents of the hampers are shared among staff across departments—often reaching more than 3,000 people in a single delivery. The smiles, the relief, and the gratitude from staff create a truly massive positive impact.
