This holiday season, Secret Hamper celebrated a remarkable milestone in our ongoing mission to show appreciation to the incredible NHS staff across the UK. On December 19th, the team delivered our 11th #ThankYouNHS hamper collection, a special delivery made possible by the generous support of local businesses who sponsored a total of 76 hampers in honour of the NHS’s 76th anniversary.

As the NHS marked another year of serving the country with unwavering dedication, Secret Hamper aimed to make sure that the staff felt truly appreciated. These hampers were delivered to NHS workers at all levels, from frontline medical professionals to those working behind the scenes, to say a simple but important “thank you” for all they do—especially during the challenging month of December.
This is a time when many NHS staff will be spending Christmas Day away from their families, working tirelessly to care for others. It’s a sacrifice that often goes unnoticed, but Secret Hamper wants to make sure that it doesn’t go unappreciated. The hampers, filled with treats, snacks, and thoughtful gifts, serve as a reminder that their hard work and commitment are valued by their communities.

The December 19th delivery was a true community effort, with local businesses stepping up to sponsor the hampers and contribute to the success of the initiative. This year, the hampers were specially designed to not only mark the NHS’s 76th anniversary but also to lift the spirits of the NHS staff working during the holiday season.
To date, over 925 hampers and 45,000 treats have been delivered to NHS hospitals across the UK, reaching 11 hospitals and uplifting the morale of tens of thousands of NHS workers. Each hamper, each treat, represents more than just a gift—it’s a symbol of gratitude for those who go above and beyond, often at great personal cost, to help others.
Secret Hamper’s founder, Nigel Richardson, experienced firsthand the incredible dedication of NHS staff earlier this year. After undergoing surgery to remove kidney stones, Nigel spent a week in the hospital and saw the unwavering commitment of the medical professionals caring for him. This experience left a lasting impression on him, fueling his desire to give back and raise morale for those who work tirelessly to make sure others are cared for.
“I saw firsthand how hard the NHS staff work, often with little recognition. Their dedication, especially during the busiest times of the year, is nothing short of extraordinary,” Nigel shared. “That’s why the #ThankYouNHS hampers are so important—they’re a small token of appreciation for the big impact NHS workers have on all of us.”
This initiative is just one part of Secret Hamper’s mission to support the NHS and spread kindness throughout the community. It’s not just about delivering hampers—it’s about showing NHS staff that they are appreciated, especially when they are away from their loved ones and making sacrifices to keep the country running.

As we reflect on the incredible efforts of the NHS, we’re reminded that small acts of kindness can have a big impact. The hampers have provided a much-needed boost of positivity and warmth to those working under pressure, and we’re so proud to be part of this movement that continues to lift spirits, one hamper at a time.
Thank you to the local businesses who sponsored the hampers, and to all the NHS staff who work tirelessly every day. You are the true heroes, and we are grateful for everything you do. Here’s to many more years of support, kindness, and appreciation for the NHS.
