We recently hosted a lunch at Ann’s Smart School of Cookery in Danbury as a thank you to all the businesses and people that supported our #NHS70 #ThankYouNHS initiative for Broomfield Hospital back in August. Unfortunately there was only space for 20 guests so when we sent out the invites it was on a first come first serve basis. The spaces were filled in no time and guests also included the Mayor of Chelmsford Cllr Yvonne Spence and the Chairman of Maldon District Council Cllr Bass.

We used as much local produce as possible, all of which can be found in our hamper and gift box ranges. Guests thought that they would be sampling Kelly Bronze turkey rolls, but Ann had different plans!

Instead of rolls, Ann cooked an amazing 3 course lunch consisting of fresh salmon from Lambton & Jackson cured in Tiptree Rhubarb Gin Liqueur, followed by a roast turkey dinner with all the trimmings which was accompanied with a stunning white wine, Bacchus Reserve from local vineyard, New Hall.

Once guests had room dessert was served which was a homemade bread and butter pudding laced with Tiptree marmalade and custard. There wasn’t much washing up to do as all the plates were practically licked clean.

We also gave all our guests a copy of Jason Vale’s new book Create Magic as a thank you as with their support we were able to create magic for thousands of others back in August, plus our story is featured in the book too!

It was a really great afternoon and lots of new friendships were made. Some of the businesses that attended have since further supported our #ThankYouNHS campaign for other hospitals here in Essex, plus we’ve also been fortunate to supply bespoke hampers to a few company’s too.

We hope to do more events like this throughout the year where we will be doing our best to showcase some of the amazing products produced here in Essex. Please take a second to sign up to our newsletter to be kept in touch of future events.
